🎣 Why Handmade Lures Still Matter (And Why We Love Making Them)

If you’ve ever stood in the fishing aisle staring at a wall full of lures, you know how overwhelming it can get. There are so many options, colors, styles… and honestly, sometimes it’s hard to know what actually works.

That’s one of the reasons we started EJ’s Lures & Flies.

For us, fishing has always been more than just catching fish. It’s about getting outside, spending time together, and enjoying those quiet moments on the water. And over time, we realized something… the lures that meant the most weren’t the ones off a big store shelf — they were the ones that had a story behind them.

🪵 The Difference with Handmade

Every lure we make is done by hand. That means:

  • No two are exactly the same
  • Each one gets real attention and care
  • We test and tweak until it feels right

With our new wooden lure line, we’ve taken that even further. There’s just something about wood — the way it moves in the water, the durability, and honestly… the look. They’re not just tools, they’re something you’re proud to tie on your line.

🎣 Built to Catch (Not Just Look Good)

We’ll be the first to say it — a lure can look amazing, but if it doesn’t catch fish, what’s the point?

That’s why we focus on:

  • Real movement in the water
  • Strong hooks and hardware
  • Designs that fish actually react to

We’ve been out testing them ourselves, and it’s been exciting to see the results. When something you made gets hit… it’s a whole different feeling.

❤️ Why We Do This

We’re a small, family-run business, and everything we do comes from that place. We’re not trying to be the biggest — we just want to make something people trust and enjoy using.

When someone sends us a picture of a fish they caught using one of our lures… that means everything.

🙌 Thank You

If you’ve supported us, followed our page, or even just checked out what we’re doing — thank you. It really does make a difference.

If you haven’t yet, we’d love for you to take a look at our lures and see what we’re all about.

🎣 Tight lines, always
